What is it?

I had this same charge on my bank statement MSFT 800-642-7676. Turns out my wife got a Minecraft subscription for the kids. In my case, it was legit.

Both of the people that posted before me are somewhat correct. It is a scam call that spoofs, or mimics, any phone number the scammer wants to use. In this case, the scammer spoofs Microsoft Help's phone number. Hope that helps!

This is a scam phone number and not Microsoft. They try to take over your computer because they claim you have a virus and they have been receiving error messages. Call your credit card company immediately and get this phone number shut down for fraud.

800-642-7676 is not a scam phone number. It is the number for Microsoft Help located in Redmond, Washington. Good luck trying to get any help though. You will end up in a FAQ list of some 300,000 entries.
