What is it?

Charged $0.99 to my Chase card by ADY*Spotify USA. Have never used Spotify. Reported it as fraud, charge will be removed, and card number changed/replaced.

Fraudulent charge on my Chase Quicken Visa account on Dec. 13: ADY*Spotify USA for $10.69. Called the fraud department. Getting a new card.

Got the ADY*Spotify USA charge on 4/7/2015 on a Chase Visa. Seems like it is a Chase problem.

They are replacing my card.

My account is being charged double. One from Spotify USA and another from ADYSpotify. both charges $9.99. I allowed my 14 yo to set up a Spotify account (which is a music website). All of a sudden I started seeing two charges. I told her to contact them and cancel one of the accounts. This is a new age company so everything is done via email. Their only answer was we only see one account, perhaps you used a different email address to set up an additional account. She did not set up another account. I called Chase today and was given a phone number for ADYSpotify which of course was not a working number (646) 837-8380. Called Chase back and they put a temporary reverse on the ADYSpotify charges, and filed a dispute claim. After reading this website, I am floored that the Chase rep had no clue about this ADY Spotify. ALL the complaints are Chase Credit Card holders, and their reps are unaware? This merchant should be "Flagged" Chase should have alerted ME of this charge. Because I allowed my daughter to set up the Spotify USA account, I did not call Chase immediately, so I have been charged for 3 months. Spotify USA is a real company, it seems ADY*Spotify is fraudulent. Thank you to everyone who posted about this, it made it so much easier to deal with the bank. I was going to put a block on both charges until I found this site. Hopefully this solves the problem and she can continue to listen to her music.

Another victim of ADY*Spotify. Chase taking care of it and issuing new card. Given the number of reports listed here, I complained vehemently to the Chase rep asking why they haven't blocked this vendor yet?!?! Terrible inconvenience to have to get new card number and call all other merchants with legitimate auto billing and unacceptable that Chase is "investigating" so long without shutting them down.

Received email today from Chase alerts service that ADY Spotify USA charged $9.99 to my Southwest Visa card here is the email alert info: As you requested, we are notifying you of an online, phone or mail order charge. A charge of ($USD) 9.99 was authorized at ADY*Spotify USA on 04/02/2015 9:48:58 PM EDT. Soon after email I Googled the ADY Spotify USA and found this site...very interesting on why it is happening with just Chase accounts. I called Chase right away and while I was on this website, explained my situation and asked why it is happening with just Chase accounts and the fraud dept. customer service woman just said that their Security/Fraud Team is looking in to the problem. Who knows where it goes from there...card cancelled, new one will be sent out via UPS...maybe get in 3 days as it is almost weekend...?? Good luck and hope you don't become a victim of more fraud. Suggest getting alerts set up for all your other credit cards and bank accounts as well. The fraudsters will never stop ripping off the consumer...!!!

On 25 April Received statement with 9.99 charge to SPOTIFY. Called Chase Fraud Dept. It is a fraud. Will cancel card and delete charge. Will send new card. Good Service from Chase

$9.99 from ADY*Spotify to my Chase Sapphire on Feb 8th; thanks to those who posted prior to me. I thought it was result of a movie theater I visited the day before, but reading here it sounds like an internal issue. Anyway, easy call to remove charge and send a new card.

THIS ISN'T JUST CHASE! This just happened to my USAA Debit MasterCard (which is even more dangerous than credit), we're getting a new card, requesting a block from ADY*Spotify USA, putting major spending limits on the card (in case someone attempts to drain things), moved lots of money out of that checking account, and watching things closely.

I just got my Expedia MasterCard through Citibank statement today (5-4-15) and saw this $9.99 charge made on March 24 by SPOTIFY USA* LONDON/GBR. I have never heard of this company...never authorized the charge!! Found your site when I went online to see what this SPOTIFY was. Worried because everyone else has a Chase account they are hacking into, and mine is thru Citibank. This is why I don't like doing anything with my credit cards online!! Now you have to go thru the hassle of calling, cancelling or closing account, & waiting for new card with new account number. This is bullcrap that our accounts can get hacked into so easily!!

When checking the latest charges on-line to my Southwest Airlines Chase Visa Card, I found a 3/31/15 charge from ADY*Spotify USA for $9.99 which posted on 4/1. I did not authorize any such charge, so I called Chase to report a fraudulent charge. After being on hold for 5 minutes, I explained the charge and the Chase rep had me verify the 2 charges prior to the Spotify charge. No other mystery charges, so rep said that I am not liable for the $9.99 charge and that my card is cancelled and I should destroy it. A new card will arrive within 5 business days. Is Chase the only credit card issuer dealing with bad Spotify charges? Is this a Chase problem being kept quiet?

Also got a charge of 9.99 on my Chase card from ADY*Spotify USA. Never heard of Spotify till now, but this is why my credit card alerts are set up for any charges with no dollar amount limit. When I use my card, my cell phone beeps, and/or I get an email. Chase cancelled the card and said they believe some is randomly selecting card numbers till they get a hit.

Got Spotify charge on Apil 2nd. , $9.99. Spent almost 1 hour with Chase CS and fraud department. It was funny that I reported the fraud but was treated as a cheater. I was asked for all kinds of questions for Chase to verify my accout. It is interesting they should know this company very well, and know that was a fraud charge. They did not spend time on stopping this company, instead they spending time to verify an accout holder reporting the fraud. After they verified my account, they just simply said we will mail you a new card. That's it, no further explanation. If I meet the same problem for the new card, I will stop all my Chase accounts. If a bank does not know how to protect and respect customer, it can not be trusted. No matter how big it is.

I got this charge today $9.99 on my chase card. I stop it was pending let look at why we are all getting this on our chase cards. I was part of the Home Depot hack using my chase card. I wonder if there is any connection. It strange that this is happening to chase cards. I did us my chase on ebay the last two weeks is this the common connection. Hope this helps

Got a fraud alert today. Its the second one within a year. $9.99 was the charge. Reported and will get yet another card from Chase. If this happens again I just might dump my Chase account in favor of another bank. Pain in the a$$.

ADY Spotify USA fraudulent charge. It happened to my Chase VISA as well. This is the third time in a year I've had to have my Chase VISA replaced. I have other VISAs with other banks and have not had to replace any. Chase needs to do better at protecting their data. I'm done with Chase credit cards.

Same situation as everyone else---got an email from Chase visa today 3/31/15 telling me a $9.99 charge from ADY Spotify placed at 5:00 a.m. had been declined by Chase. Judging from the posts here, Chase is now at least declining the Spotify charges when they come through. Perhaps Chase's data base has been hacked, but more likely this is from one of the earlier hacks...such as Target, Home Depot, Michaels, etc. Those hackers sold our credit card numbers and after a wait till the dust settled from those hacks, the card numbers are now being fraudulently used. I had shopped at all the hacked stores with my Chase card.

I was looking at my Chase VISA account yesterday and noticed two charges from ADY*Spotify on 12/14. One for $0.99 and another on the same day just after that for $119.88. I've never done business with Spotify and don't use any streaming music services. I called Chase and they verified that the small charge is used to see if the card number is valid, then they put through larger amounts. Card was deactivated and a new card is on its way to me overnight at no charge to me.

It's ridiculous that someone like Spotify can just keep doing this to scores of people and not get caught. The Chase rep told me the only way to get further with a criminal investigation is if I file a police report. Obviously, most people don't want to spend the time doing police reports, so they just replace the card and get on with life.

I saw 2 charges for ADY*Spotify and called Chase and they shut off our cards to send new ones.

Got an email from Chase on the 18th alerting me to a potential fraudulent charge on my Freedom Visa, $9.99 from Spotify USA. I called the Chase fraud department and denied the charge. They immediately cancelled the card and issued a new one to be sent out express UPS.

However, I do note that the fraudulent charge is still listed on my card activity list as a "pending" charge, (along with a valid pending charge) 24 hours later. I'm not sure why it should still be up there.

Can you help? What is this charge?
