What is it?

As stated by Stef previously, this is a charge for security services provided by Frontier Secure on behalf of internet service providers. AT&T asked me if I wanted this service (which I'm surprised, they typically add additional services with no acknowledgment). I explicitly stated I did not want the service, but it appears they persisted in adding it to my account without my permission.

The number I called was 888-620-3663 as provided on the credit card charge. They had on file an account with all my information. I requested a cancellation and refund for the two charges I incurred ($2.99 and $12.99). I was a little steamed, but the rep was very nice and obliged my requests with no protest.

I had this extra bill too, it is AT&T tricked their customer to order it. AT&T add the outside service to customer, but not put in AT&T bill and direct TV and AT&T customer services couldn't cancel it. This internet security service AT&T should have it for customer themselves, not ask customer to pay for the extra and unknown bill. AT&T did this little like a fraud to their customer. you see, if customer needs this service, they would like do it themselves and know it clear. Welcome to the AT&T Fraud, its called Frontier Secure - a service that you are automatically signed up for without your permission. It shows up on your credit card statement for $12.99. Then to get it stopped you have to endure a thirty minute phone call and their reasons that its not their fault and "you should haves..." Good luck - their phone number is 888-620-3663 - be careful cause they ask for your Social Security Number, phone number address.....

Same experience here! When I signed up with AT&T for internet services, they told me about a "protection plan" what was free for the first month or so, then I would need to call and cancel it if I didn't want to be charged. I called AT&T about 20 days later to cancel, and they stated that I wasn't enrolled in any additional plan. 2 months and a couple of $14.99 charges later, I called Frontier at 888-620-3663 and they cancelled my plan. They will "investigate" to see if I am eligible for a refund of a product I didn't want and already tried to cancel. AT&T is well known for terrible customer service. This just adds to the reasons why I wish we did not have to ever work with this company again.

Had same experience as Stef's post above. This internet security service was automatically billed to my credit card without my knowledge when I signed up for ATT U-verse. A beginning fee of $2.99 immediately hit my credit card before the ATT service was installed. The monthly fees thereafter would have been $12.99. Since I did not want the service, I called 1-888-446-7622 to cancel. Their Customer Service passed me off to the Rapid Response Dept where they canceled the service and reversed the charge on my credit card. They were nice about it, but it was one more of life's little annoyances.

I have been charged $12.99 every month by CTS Frontier since acquiring AT&T/Direct TV nearly a year ago. When I called CTS Frontier to inquire about this unauthorized fee the customer service representative was unable to locate an account of any kind for me. She also noticed and stated that CTS Frontier did not service my zip code area. Since this charge began appearing after acquiring AT&T Internet and DirectTV television viewing I called AT&T and again the representative could find no connection with CTS Frontier. No account information, no proof of acceptance or cause for the charges on my bank statement. There is no logical explanation for these types of unethical practices and should be cause for a class action lawsuit against the only KNOWN link which appears to (secretly) be with AT&T and CTS Frontier.

This is awful! Definetly use the 1-888-446-7622 number. The other number 888-620-3663 is a joke! I was passed arounf to 3 or 4 people all saying I didn't have an account. Spent 40 minutes and got nowhere! Called the 7622 number and it was taken care of in 10 minutes!
