I received a similar charge during my reservation of a car rental for Cancun, Mexico. At least the charge for me consisted on a security deposit that is common when you rent a car in Mexico. The charge is on hold until the rental car is returned, at that time the security deposit charge will be cancelled.
I am not sure if the charge for the car rental will be under the same name.
