What is it?

It was for magazine subscriptions. I called and got my money back. The subscription was included for free with a customer rewards card at books-a-million and the staff conveniently failed to tell me they would charge my card after two months. Watch out for scammers they are even in reputable retail stores.

This is what appeared on my Discover Card statement with $60 charges: TME2N2057EWMAG 855-226-0429 NY. I called the number and requested a refund for all of the fraudulent charges. The man who answered the phone was very rude and refused to refund me. He told me that I had ordered the magazines and agreed to pay for them. I want to know who is willing to pay $60 per month for TIME magazine...really... and another $60 per month for the PEOPLE magazine...This all happened because I charged my airline tickets and then this scum bucket got my credit card number through that purchase. I received a "Mileage Redemption Voucher" ALLEGEDLY from Delta Skymiles. It states MAGSFORMILES. This so called voucher allows you to pick the magazines you want in exchange for so many of your miles. It states "REDEEM YOUR MILES FOR MAGAZINE TODAY. THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO CASH COST." Also stated on this voucher is the following: "Redeem your miles to receive the number of issues shown for each publication. No cash payment or credit card charge is required..." The credit card people have reported the fraud and hopefully these people will be caught and prosecuted. There is another problem though, since these people have my credit card information, they can continue to charge. If Discover issues me a different card number and a charge comes through with the old credit card number, the charge automatically goes to the new card. I thought that changing the number would end the nightmare. Needless to say, we want be able to continue with Discover.

Magazine subscription. Call 855 number to discontinue, and get refund.

You have to report this to your credit card. I never subscribed magazine.

11/07 I was charged $37 dollars and I wondered, couldn't figure out. 11/09 The charge of $37 disappeared.

today 11/10 $42 dollars got charged again to my card. I reported to credit card wellsfargo. they are sending me totally new credit card number.

REPORT IMMEDIATELY

Thanks to Larry for suggesting the 877-813-0320 number. It was difficult to find the prompt for speaking to an agent so I just kept pressing zero and pound and star until it connected! The agent handled it well and confirmed that I will receive credit for full amount. Problem is that this subscription service is supposed to mail an alert when it's time to renew, but they didn't. I also posted a dispute online with my Chase card, which was easy. When you do this, you can give the reason "expecting a credit" and your card will not charge you interest or late fees on that charge if you don't pay it). (Make sure you do contact the subscription service first to get your credit before doing this.)

The same thing happened to me and it was because of FYE when you get a membership. I honestly don't remember asking for the "free magazines". I usually say no. I just got off customer service and they submitted a ticket for escalation and should get a response in my email in a week.

I haven't received any of the magazines. So I asked to cancel them today (12/27). We will see what they do.

I ordered two magazines through a company called Blue Dolphin. $2 per subscription. Like others here, I received no notification, two charges showed up on my credit card. I first called my credit card company, which preferred to categorize it as a "dispute" rather than the fraud it is. I then called the toll-free # for one of the magazines, and using the automated system cancelled both. You do have to listen carefully. In the course of cancelling, they offered the option of a refund plus another $2 term. They said they would mail a notice before any automatic renewal. However, since they didn't bother to mail such a notice this time, and no email notice, I declined.

I got a charge for twenty dollars and some change for magazines I never ordered. NO NOE ever reached out to me to ask if I wanted these and not sure how you got my bank account information. I called my bank, closed my card attached to the charge and disputed the charges, since I did not authorize them. If I wanted to read your magazines I would read them in the check out line at the the store.

My 92-year-old mother was conned with a free gift subscription to a magazine of her choice when enrolling for Dish network. Now, 3 months later, a charge appears on her cc for $117.00. She lives on S.S. This was a pure con. There was no mention of this gift being anything but a free thank-you subscription. We will call repeatedly, hoping for a refund. So far, have not been able to get through.

Can you help? What is this charge?
