What is it?

I've gotten this twice on my credit card (both cards are canceled). I don't even have an account with McAffee, this is fraud in my case.

Charged for McAfee account that I don't have

Auto Renewal from McAfee - access your McAfee account on-line and turn off the Auto-Renewal if you don't want them to charge you for another year.

Was just charged twice for autorenewal in amount of $160. Was alerted by my bank as fraud. Have to get new debit card--total pain in the ass.

this is not Mcafee phone number, this is a indian scam call center.

I got thas charge on my Discover card. I called the number and found that it is for SafeEyes, which is owned by McAfee. I did purchase SafeEyes and do want to keep the subscription. No problem for me, just misleading on the Discover statement.

I have charged a few times by the company. Once the company got my card number, they just took money from my credit card periodically. I disputed a charge. My credit company cancelled my credit number and refund a few hundred dollars. I just found they have charged my credit card for two years. It is steal.

I got scammed by them to for 137.79 i had to report them and cancel my card.I'm warning everyone that uses mcafee.

Charged 157.20 at random and then they tried to hack into my PayPal account. When I called them for a refund the man tried to say it couldn't be done and that I needed to set up an account. When confronted about being charged with "no account' he got upset, and then tried to make small talk to distract me. When I told him he should be able to trace the transaction number and simply reverse the charges, he tried to send me to someone so they could get my credit card number. I hung up... Get your bank to reverse the fraudulent charge.

I had McAfee for a free trial; and the card I used is not the card I have now; so how did they tap into my account because I noticed a charge on my credit card in the amount of $79.99, plus tax. I called 866-622-3911 and spoke with 3 very rude agents. One actually said; if we reduce it to $24.00 we will refund the balance. I said no way in hell; refund all my monies; wanted my social security number; I said no; then guess what the jerk hung up on me. Then I was sent an email that everything was resolved; IT WAS NOT RESOLVE. I contacted my bank and they are putting stop payment on this. Be careful everyone.

My dad who is unfit and dont use his credit card got charged 124$ on April 2023. Still trying to see whats going on but thanks to all of you guys, i will just request a refund from the insurance company and cancel his credit card.

Got a charge from the same number 5/23/21 for $48 Dollars. Clear fraud. I have NEVER purchased anything fro McAfee ... EVER. They demanded all my email addresses, personal address, and credit card # ... Not a chance! They had zero knowledge of the reference number associated with the transaction at all ... which is odd, because the transaction number IS THEIR NUMBER!!!

CLEAR obvious fraud. DO NOT give these people your information!!!

Customer service located at phone number 866-622-3911 was very helpful. I wasn't sure what email address I had used on this McAfee account, but she was able to locate it and cancel the auto-renewal as well as refund my money.

I just noticed a charge on my credit card in the amount of $79.99. I called 866-622-3911 and spoke with a very kind rep (Faye) who explained that it was for a virus protection software auto-renewal. I did purchase the software last year but was not aware of the auto-renewal. She said that I would receive a full credit on my card and that it would show up in 5 business days.

First time in my life someone has stolen my card number. I have two $50 charges from McAfee. I've talked to multiple customer service people and they CAN'T refund the money. In order to do that they need the address and e-mail address used to create the account. Well why would I have that since the f**ker who stole my card number registered the product! They seem to have a difficult time understanding that concept.

I was charged the $106.34 auto renewal fee. This was not an authorized purchase which constitutes fraud. I had to close my account to stop from being charged.

I disagree with the response given by Jeanne on 10/14/`4- this is a fraudulent charge. Although I did purchase a McAfee product in February of last year, I called and cancelled the auto renewal and yet there is now a charge of 89.99 on my card that was done on Christmas day. Not only was this cancelled over 8 months ago, but it would have been early since I didn't even purchase it until February. Called the McAfee number (same as everyone else has listed) was on the phone with someone without a brain for an hour who kept asking the same questions that I had answered, over and over. I'm over this company and the unintelligent morons they have working for them. People need to steer clear of them- find another provider for this type of service and be sure to research it first.

Transaction Details On 5/23/23 PURCHASE McAfee, LLC 866-622-3911 CA $149.99 These jokers used my card, I said oh no this is a scam. These aHoles left my account with $8.95 really really, It may not be alot of money, but IT WAS MY MF**NGMONEY. I just deleted all the save account credit cards and debit card numbers out of GOOGLE that they save now delete delete and all my passwords. I am questioning everything now. I am oh my gracious hurt.

I got an 80 dollar charge on my bank statement from Mcafee I ordered from them last year for 1 computer for 25 bucks think and it wouldn't download the program.so as time went on I forgot about it.a year later I get an 80 dollar charge the number 1-866-622-3911 is on the web site I called and get a recording for a 100 dollar walmart gift card and no one ever comes on .im going to my bank and opening a new account or they will steal all my money and I don't have a lot. dam jerks

I received a credit card charge which was not authorized for a McAfee subscription using a former email address of my wife's work. We are not using any McAfee products. I don't know how McAfee got our credit card account number. I called and they are refunding.

This was definitely fraud, I got the same charge on my card. Called my banks fraud department and they already knew it was fraud when I said McAfee. Cancelled the card and will be resolved with 10 days.

On 19/05/14 two charges appeared on my Australian CC as "MCAFEE 866-622-3911-TX" Spoke to McAfee support who identified these as being fraudulent. He gave his name and a contact # as a reference for the bank if required. Only course of action is to have new card re-issued. Bank will adjust my account and investigate.

Customer service located at phone number 866-622-3911 was very helpful. I have been charged of $116.86 on my debit card and that because of renewal which I did not order it, the customer services fixed that and make the refund.

Had a 79.99 charge on my debit card from Mc Afee. I called the number and got a Hispanic woman I had trouble understanding. She supposed cancelled the charge and said I will get my money back within 5 business days. I do have mc afee on my computer but never signed up for auto renewal

I have been charged of $68.56 on my credit card and there is no auto renewal which is set up . Could see lot of others have been charged similar from this forum. If any concern person from the firm are looking at all these messages - please take the step to fix the issue , rather then having the customers call to get the refund - doesn't look good. Thanks

charged $99.99 on a retail account that was supossively closed. automatic renewal

A charge of $99.90 showed in a credit card that we never use, it was made by MCAFEE 866-622-3911 TX. The charge was made 09/12/14, the same day another charge was made in NY for $203.40. We have no idea how they got a hold of our credit card VISA.

I haven't used my credit card for several months, then a charge from mcaffee shows up. I know I have never given any credit card numbers to anyone, at anytime, on line or by phone. I immediately contacted my credit company and cancelled it. I cancelled all my credit cards on my amazon account. there are too many breeches going on.

I bought a new cheap laptop without knowing it came with an installed MCAFEE software. Later within a month I found my credit card got charged with around $75 dollars. How do they know my credit card number. I have never asked to subscribed MCAFEE software service. I asked my credit company to remove this charge and a few days later their lawyer sent me a text wants me to pay. It is scary that they know my phone numbers. It is bullying people. All computer users should stay together to fight this company.

I received two charges of $59.82 in less than 2 weeks from McAfee. I called my credit card company to dispute them. I've never done any business with McAfee and when I called the phone number on the transaction a woman requested my credit card to "look up the transaction." I did not give any personal information and offered to give them the reference number of the transaction instead. She said no and hung up. These are fraudulent charges.

Can you help? What is this charge?
