I don't want this service is there a way to take it off, also I don't remember asking for this!!! so I do want my money back! I don´t even use amazon much...
This charge may appear a month after you make a purchase from Amazon if you signed up for the free trial of Amazon Prime (free 2 day shipping, etc). After your free month ends, Amazon Prime renews for a year at a time.
It is the subscription for 2 day shipping. I never signed up and am not happy about the charge. They are working on giving me a full refund. I think it is a scam for people that don't read their credit card statements.
$99 was deducted from my checking account for Prime service that I did not order. This is a fraud for someone to deduct money from your checking/savings account without your approval. I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. I got an Email saying the money will be re deposited into my account but that is yet to be seen.
I was really mad when I saw that they charged me for something automatically. You can email Amazon or chat with them and get it taken care of.
Amazon.com is trying to steal 99.00 dollars from my credit card. I am not stupid I did not ask for or recieve two day shipping. This is not a accident I did not click on free overnight shipping my movies that I orderd took along time to arrive. Free two night shipping is not 99.00 dollar two night shipping. The internet is full of rational people who are fighting amazon.com over amzon prime charges that they did not order do not want and only found out about while paying their credit card two months after the fraudulent charge was deliberately added by amazon.
I was charged $99 for Prime and did not order it purposely if at all. I called Amazon and the CS agent was extremely nice and removed it instantly. I received my confirmation of the cancelation via email with-in minutes. Not happy with the charge but extremely happy with the response I received when I called and asked for it to be removed.
caught a $39 charge on my bank statement for AMAZON PRIME, followed by an 866 number. I came to this site, saw others have experienced the same thing and called custmer service. I never knowning signed up for this service but because I selected 2 day shipping, they signed me up for it? Sneaky and WRONG! I no longer trust them with my personal information and refuse to use them to buy my school books. Even though they did refund the $39, I shouldn't have been charged for it in the first place. Do yourself a favor and buy from a reliable source from here out.

This charge is for a Amazon Prime Membership. It renews automatically. You can go into your account an stop this or contact Amazon. They are great to deal with, an if you haven't used the membership they usually give you a full refund. Once I stopped my membership early an they gave me a refund for the months I wasn't going to use it. They did this on their own. How many places refund you for cancelling out of a membership early?? Amazon doesn't promise this when you apply for the membership. I think they are great to do this for their members who have to stop early. I don't work for Amazon, but I have had a membership w/them for about 5yrs an I have ALWAYS HAD GREAT SERVICE!!

We just purchased a Kindle Fire and me and the wife know just enough about one to be dangerous. Amazon charged us $84.00 on or credit card for movies in which we did sign up for not knowing what we were doing. We contacted them and they were very courteous and removed the charge. Other companies could take lessons from them when dealing with customers.
my wife passed away a while ago and she used Amazon all the time. I called up the number 866 etc. and the gentleman was very nice and took care of the problem right away with a full refund.

Well i opted not to sign up to anything and i cancelled the whole shopping cart process and did not confirm anything. A month later, i get charged $99... WTF??? Yes, there is a convenient button to cancel membership and receive full refund if you didn't use service but why are they locking people to a membership they didn't consent to?

Just found I got charged as well $99.00. I had no clue about this until I checked my bank acct. I purchased a few things on Amazon for Christmas and paid extra to have it shipped within two days. I called them using the 866-749-7545 and they advised they would refund my card within two business days. We shall see.
Amazon charged me $106.92 for "membership". They said that it was a mistake and "sorry".

I submitted my complaint to the Internet Crime Complaint Center. This is a very scary and wrong thing to do. So many people will be scammed by this.
My charge was $82. As I had not used the Amazon Prime "convenience" since the time the charge was implemented, I was able to go to the "Prime Membership" page, and they had a button to "cancel" the service, with a full refund. That worked. They also leave a number to call to get that cancelled if that doesn't function correctly.
There was a charge of $107.17 as of 12/31/I did not give any one to make this charge. This had not been a membership fee, because there is no way I would pay a fee that high. I am contacting my bank. I live on social security and can not afford this charge. Margaret Henck Texas
Like many, I was infuriated to find a charge today of $107.91 that I never knowingly consented to. Subsequently, both my bank's claims officer and a rep from Amazon itself have acknowledged to me on the phone that this is a known, repeating complaint that speaks to something shady and unethical. There's even a "What's this $99 charge?" topic prominently featured in the Amazon FAQ, suggesting an awareness of this fact on Amazon's part. This is genuinely approaching fraud and the corporate pinheads responsible should be fired immediately. I'll never use Amazon again. Outrageous.

This is a popular fraud with these companies going as far back as AOL. Amazon charged me $99 for "prime membership" last month. I had purchased 1 $40 item the month before, because I couldn't find it in a store locally (my mistake). I certainly didn't sign up for prime membership (trial or otherwise). The scam is simple, throw an unauthorized charge on there and apologize for the "mistake" if you get caught. Highly profitable, because for every "refund" they issue, there will be several people who don't catch the extra charge on their card. Don't phone Amazon for the solution,this just gives them the cover they need to continue with the deception. Report this as a fraudulent charge to your card company and notify your state's attorney general's office.

My son ordered a product on-line and amazon began billing my account $99.00. I was told it was because he choose two day shipping, which was not true. I was told we received 3 months of Amazon Prime as a trial and then needed to cancel. Amazon was contacted at 866-557-2820 and agreed to remove the charge. Amazon is wrong to offer Prime in the manner in which they are doing. I have always trusted Amazon and thank them for crediting my account, but I now question their integrity. Luckily, I checked my credit card bill. Amazon be the best that you can be!
Found a $79.00 charge from Amazon Prime that I did not authorize. Called the # that appeared on my statement. Talked with a representative who said they would refund the $79.00. I requested a verification on my e-mail as to who I talked with and that they would be refunding my account. In a matter of minutes I received the e-mail and it also stated that I would receive an e-mail with confirmation when the refund is processed! Will see what happens! So far so good.

Hello i work for a Banking Fraud company. Amazon PRIME isnt stealing your money. When you are ordering an item and you select two day shipping amazon prime that is a 30 day free trial, it is YOUR responsibility to call and cancel your membership after the 30 days are up. IF not they do charge you once a month for the 2 day free shipping. So its not fraud by any means. So my advise is to clearly read the terms and conditions before signing up for anything online that requires you to input card infomation.

Hey guys, just spotted this on my bank statement and freaked out but found this site.If you've gotten a textbook through Amazon and you accept 2 day shipping, they sign you up for this. Although cust. srvs was more than obliging with a refund, it's very sneaky, as it took two weeks for my book to get here, not 2 days.
Also got taken in by this scam. Ordered a gift for my nephew in December, selected 2 day shipping and found this charge on my credit card bill for $89 on month later. No where did it state that I would be billed for a yearly subscription service, and no email was dispatched to me to inform me of the charge or even that I signed up for Amazon Prime. To make matters worse, when I contacted Chase Bank who issued me my Amazon Rewards Visa, they stated they were aware of the charges and that people have had issues with them. Clearly, Amazon knows it's misleading customers and while they did reverse the charges and cancel the subscription I am furious at the inconvenience.

I saw this charge on my MC statement, and many conflicting entries on the website. This phone # is the ONLY # I could find to talk with a real live human. The Cust Svc guy (hopefully) solved all the issues at one time..... We'll see. I'm giving them the benefit of my cynical side for now.
So you probably signed up for a free trail of Amazon Prime the trial only last 30 days and once the 30 day's is over it renews automatically with a charge of 79$ You can cancel it by calling Amazon and telling them you do not want the service, the money should be back in your account 2-3 business days
I got charged for prime because I signed up for Amazon student and apparently got it free for 6 months which is why I just got charged. If you go to your prime account and click on automatically don't renew and cancel your subscription they won't charge you anymore. In my case it told me I was uneligible for a refund so I called customer service and they refunded the charge for me.

They'll tell you that they can't refund it because it was already charged. Just explain nicely that this is why you called...you know they can refund it and it was done without your consent and you want your refund back and they'll "see what they can do". Then they can refund it. Worked smoothly

They did not ask you but just add you as Prime member and charge you maybe 39$ when you buy something and choose prime free 2-day shipping. You can cancel the membership by clicking "cancel membership" in the "prime" page of your amazon account. You will be noticed whether you can get the full refund or not before the membership is canceled.
Immediately I saw this on my card statement, I went to the site and cancelled the membership. I've been told to expect a refund in 7-10 days. Very annoying and inconveniencing. Since you already have it, go to Amazon and there is a book explaining what Amazon prime is. .the book is free if you won't cancel amazon Prime for 30 days. You have a 30 day free trial. If you will keep it and try it, you will see how much information that's availablel to you. One is 2 day shipping. I use Amazon A lot and I've probably got back most of my $79.00. I love it and if you try it , you'll see. When I need anything, I go to Amazon. They have everything and it's nice to get it in 2 days.
I too didn't realize that I was agreeing to a 12 month membership to Amazon Prime. I surfed their help section and after a few clicks found the section where they refund it. While unhappy to find a US$79 (AUS$89) charge, it appears to be a simple process to refund.
I think Amazon have made it easy for people in a similar position as me.
I love Amazon Prime, but I do order just about everything from them including some groceries! I have no idea where I would be without them. As for being "charged" without knowing about it...before you are an amazon prime member they do offer Amazon Prime free for a month and at the bottom of the confirmation page to start the subscription in tiny letters it does explain the charge and how much will be deducted from your account. It is sad that so many people are having trouble. Amazon is an amazing company.
